 • Year of the Eucharist

This discussion had been started, but was no where to be found, it just seems to have disappeared. Although there were not many contributions to the discussion, the door was open. Well, I'll try to open the door for some sharing by the faithful once more.

To me, the Eucharist is the ultimate; Jesus ever present, live with us. The power of His Divine Being right beside me is overwhelming at times.

Can you share what you and your parish are doing during the holy year of the Eucharist.

All are welcome to spend time with Him who died for our sin at the Chapel of Pertual Adoration in Our Lady of Hope (OLOH) in Sudbury. All are also welcome to the lenten mission at OLOH, the theme is "The Church and the Eucharist"; this is held every Saturday morning until 12th March. OLOH is at 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury, Ontario.

It is a joy to see that we now have links to resourses concerning this Year of the Eucharist posted on the site. Thank you for the good work.
Don't forget to visit our Lord at the Adoration Chapel at Our Lady of Hope. He is there waiting for us to converse with Him.

We have dedicated a special spot on our parish website, ST. Alexander's, for this topic. It is updated weekly with a new prayer and/or reflection. To date we have held 2 taize prayer sessions in the presence of Christ in the blessed sacrament with special focus on this wonderful gift and the abundance of grace available within. I hope that we will be able to continue our efforts and our special attention to the ..'year of the Eucharist'

We are all very blessed to have Jesus available to us in the Eucharist, let us never take that for granted. Let us also pray for those who, because of their political situation, do not have access to Christ in communion, and for our priests who are a special gift to us:

Dear Lord Jesus;

We thank you for saving us through your death and resurection, and for giving us the gift of your living presence in Holy Communion so that we may become part of you and remain with you always. Grant your protection and your peace to those who are unable to receive you in Holy Communion, and protect and guide your priests so that they may continue to administer your body and blood and the sacraments of the church to all the faithful. We ask this in your name. Amen.
