I think for many people, there aren't opportunities to form thoughtful
opinions on issues like this. What is missing are opportunities to meet in
groups, to speak with people within the Church who can help with discernment,
and to have relevant information available. |

Gerry,
There is a Vatican teaching on Euthanasia that can be accessed from the Vatican website. We should know our own Church teachings! For the Declaration on Euthanasia see: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_19800505_euthanasia_en.html I hope everyone wrote to their M.P. If you did, you would have received a very prompt reply. Most M.P.'s are not for legalising Euthanasia! It would be very helpful if study groups were set up. There are two main types of Euthanasia - passive and active. It is very difficult to watch a loved one die when they are deprived of the basics to sustain life, i.e. food and water. The question for the family - Do you want to prolong your loved one's suffering when all we can do is make them as comfortable as possible before death? Yes, many soul-searching questions. Passive? Certainly. Natural? Good question. Blessings, Linda |

This letter is addressed to: The Honourable Mr. Paul Martin, Prime Minister of Canada, and to all Members in the House of Commons, as well as to all Senators in the Canadian Senate: My dear Sirs: It is most certainly with astonishment that we’ve learnt that the bill on euthanasia had been adopted in its first reading in our wealthy Christian country. How disgustingly dreadful! The “powers that be” now want to play GOD! With this most infamous law being legalized, one will have the power of life or death over a human being while masking this most odious crime under the pseudonym of—compassion (sic)! Our late and regretted Bishop Sheen, on his weekly television program during the 1960’s, vehemently condemned that type of compassion as a--“false compassion”! It is as crafty as the serpent! Are you not capable of shame and true compassion any more, you gentlemen, our politicians…? Are you still civilized, you our leaders? It seems to me that you are returning to the days of the cavemen—towards BARBARISM, gentlemen! One kills without any signs of remorse its own children through legalized abortion, and now with this infamous bill we will have legalized the killing of elderly people and the handicapped through euthanasia—(a fancy word used by our politicians to hide that it is actually--“legalized murder”!) I most certainly do not feel that I am living in security today under the leadership of you atheistic leaders and legislators. Politicians who have become irreligious are now very dangerous for all of their subjects. Proof of this last statement became undeniable under the infernal dictatorship of the Communist countries during the 20th Century. That is where you are leading us--you Godless and irreligious Ottawa politicians--to Communism! We need true Christians who shall stand up--as one man if one has too--to defend the sacred character of human life in this country. Obviously, we most certainly cannot depend on you politicians; who are boldly boasting of having abandoned God; and are not following in the footsteps of the Christian Founders of our country Canada. The bottom line is this, Mr. Martin, and all of you M.P.’s and Senators in Ottawa: If the reason to want to eliminate the elderly and the handicapped in this country is a question of money, well I can tell you my dear Sirs that that problem can be resolved overnight. The ”powers that be” only has to apply Article 91 of our Canadian Constitution that gives our Sovereign Government—ONLY, the authority and the responsibility to create its own money; rather than continuously put itself into debt in perpetuity at usury interest rates towards the Chartered Banks of Canada; that are robbing us to the tune of 40 to 50 billion dollars in compounded interests each year. Really Mr. Martin, and all of you politicians! What excellent services you could give to all Canadians with this outrageous amount; that you simply throw away to the Ogres of Finance, in order to try and satisfy their quenchless thirst for our hard-earned Canadian dollars! It is obvious that you prefer immolating the human being on the altar of the god-money—Mammon! Otherwise you would do something about it. It is within your rights and within your jurisdiction--Gentlemen! Members of Parliament, drive out the moneychangers from our Canadian temple—the Ottawa Parliament! Free your government from this financial dictatorship—you have the power to do so! This will surely put an end to our insurmountable debts towards this fraudulent-banking DICTATORSHIP—that cannot mathematically ever be repaid! With this present-fraudulent monetary system, the more the Canadian people develop the country, the more they plunge themselves into red ink. This is absolutely NONSENSICAL! my dear Sirs! Gentlemen politicians, correct and put right the financial system which is the most urgent and necessary reform according to our sorely missed Pope John Paul II; because the political leaders do not know on which side to turn any more as they face the harrowing problems of this so-called (fraudulent)--National Debt. We know that many countries are looking towards our enviable Canada. Why not be for them a good example where one valorizes peace, justice, security, liberty, prosperity and high moral standards where life is sacred and protected from the very moment of conception to the natural death of all human beings. God, ONLY, is the Creator and Taker of life. Otherwise we are returning to a state of barbarism and we will all end up into concentration camps; that the Ogres of Finance are now preparing for the great majority of us all, if our Members of Parliament do not rectify this nonsensical swindle perpetrated by the private banking system (the Chartered Banks of Canada); through their illegal appropriation of the monetary system of this country. I can tell you that I have myself suffered greatly seeing my mother die of hunger and dehydration refusing to feed her intravenously. This is considered a form called “passive euthanasia”. I pray God Almighty to have mercy on us all and to enlighten the minds of our politicians in Ottawa; and to give them the heart and the courage necessary to legislate laws that are in accord with Christian principles. People are suffering in our great and rich country gentlemen, you have the power to alleviate all of this suffering by rectifying the fraud and swindle in the monetary system of this country; and that Gentlemen--will make you politicians, the “Greatest Patriots” who ever were borne in this country—if it ever comes to past under your leadership. Yours very truly, _________________________ Claude R. Beaudin Public Accountant CC: To all Members of the House of Commons in Ottawa To all Members of the Senate in Ottawa |
