Sudbury’s downtown Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes gives pilgrims and visitors who walk its paths a different perspective from other Catholic shrines in Canada or globally. The exhibits add a broader philosophical approach and a greater ecumenical dimension to the site so those of various faiths or no faith may find both meaning and solitude on its grounds. The exhibits create a feeling of looking through a kind of window on God’s plan for humanity, enabling the Grotto to be an oasis of peace with inspiring and rallying monuments conducive to prayer and reflection.
