In Thanksgiving...
The weekend of October 27th to 29th was a busy and blessed one for the little servants of Christ The King prayer community. The Life In The Spirit Seminars began on Friday evening and continued through to early Sunday afternoon. Our Lord's love permeated the atmosphere and was very much in evidence to, and in, all those who participated in the Seminars, which culminated in a time of praise and thanksgiving for the many blessings received.
Our special Mass for cancer patients, their families and caregivers on Sunday afternoon was very well attended. Concelebrating the Mass and administering the Sacrament of the Sick were Msgr. Raymond Farrell, who also served as homilist; Fr. Jean Gobeil of Villa Loyola, Fr. Charlie Matthew of St. John the Evangelist parish, Fr. Larry Rymes of Our Lady of Hope parish, Fr. Myles Sharpe, retired priest of our Diocese and Fr. André Tremblay of St. Mathieu's parish. The Gospel was proclaimed by Rev. Mr. Victor Vere.
Mrs. Mary Orasi, accompanied by her husband Gary, spoke of the importance of the Sacrament of the Sick, not only to their daughter Corinne, who had been a cancer patient, but to Corinne's family members as well. The beautiful hymns of praise and inspiration led by the Spirit-filled music ministry of our prayer community greatly enhanced the liturgy.
With thanksgiving to our Lord for His many blessings and to all the members of our prayer community whose prayer support was so generously given. "Glory be to Him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to Him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen" (Eph. 3: 20,21)
