Ann Koivu

Ann began her formal musical training at the age of 12, on her family's traditional instrument, the accordion. In later years she included lessons on the classical guitar and spent personal time exploring the organ and piano. As a performer Ann competed, nationally and internationally, as a soloist and in the ensemble environment of duo, quintet and orchestra. For many years she taught instrumental music in a private music school owned and operated by her and her husband, Brian.

Ann has been a church choir member since her elementary school days, learning about liturgy and liturgical music from committed choir directors and alongside experienced church organists. For the past 16 years, she has served her congregation as director and accompanist to a dedicated group of singers who devote their efforts to the church's music ministry.
