Reverend Murray Kroetsch
Reverend Murray Kroetsch, is currently the Director of the Liturgy Office for the Diocese of Hamilton (Ontario, Canada) and pastor of Saint Pius X Parish in Brantford, Ontario.
Ordained in 1978, he holds a Master of Arts degree in Liturgical Studies (University of Notre Dame, Indiana, 1985) and has pursued Post-graduate studies in Ecclesiology at the University of Saint John Lateran (Rome, 2002-2003).
Father Kroetsch has served in various parishes within the Diocese of Hamilton throughout his 27 years of priesthood, and has had extensive experience in Liturgy including involvement with the National Council for Liturgy (1982-1985, 1996-2001); the OLC (1982-1988, 1997-2001); and the International Committee for English in the Liturgy (ICEL) (1989-1996).
He has served as Director of the National Liturgy Office in Ottawa, Ontario (1986-1990), as Chair of the committee responsible for the selection of hymns for the Catholic Book of Worship III (1987-1994), and is currently serving as Chair of the National Committee for Liturgical Music.
In addition, Father Kroetsch has served as Editor of the Canadian editions of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (CCCB, 1987), the Rite of Baptism for Children (CCCB, 1989), the Order of Christian Funerals (CCCB, 1990) and as Editorial chair of the Catholic Book of Worship III (CCCB, 1994).
A frequent presenter and facilitator for liturgical workshops, he has a unique perspective and ability to speak about worship and the many voices which make up our one assembly.
