Chancellor
In each curia a chancellor is to be appointed, whose principal office ... is to ensure that the acts of the curia are drawn up and dispatched, and that they are kept safe in the archive of the curia (CIC 482, 1)
The office of chancellor must be established in the curia. The function of the chancellor is essentially of an administrative nature. The chancellor is the secretary of the curia and, as such, is responsible for issuing and publishing the contents of documents.
