Once again the diocese is preparing to send a delegation of young people from the diocese to represent us at the world's largest young adult Catholic faith event, World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, Australia.

Pope Benedict XVI invites young adults, between the ages of 18 and 35, to gather with him every three years to celebrate their faith with young adults from over 150 countries.

This incredible event is scheduled to take place in Sydney, Australia in July of 2008. It is a fifteen day pilgrimage, including four days in Melbourne for Days in the Diocese, packed with five days of World Youth Day activites. This festival of faith includes catechesis, prayer, music, presentations, skits, and activities that involve people from around the world. It culminates with a pilgrim walk to a place of prayer where all the young people gather together for a night vigil starting with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI message to the pilgrims and concluding with the Eucharist on Sunday morning.
