'Faith on Tap' attracts young people
Religion, spirituality, politics and chicken wings!
A group of fifteen University-aged students gathered last weekend for the first inaugural "Faith on Tap" event at Casey's Restaurant in Sudbury. The event brings young adults together to socialize and share topics related to their faith in an informal setting. The event was organized by the Sudbury region's Catholic Youth Council which has started another year of youth activities in the city.
The event was well-received, as the young people rarely have an avenue to discuss their faith openly over appetizers and drinks. More "Faith on Tap" events have been planned for this year.
The idea of the event came from the ever-popular "Theology on Tap" which continues to grow in other dioceses across Canada and throughout the United States. This event brings a theology 'topic' to the table where young adults are open to meet and discuss at their favourite local pub. These events are usually mediated by a priest, and sometimes even the Diocesan Bishop.
