Content idea: Profiles and photos of your lay pastoral leaders and teams

Adding information about your pastoral teams has several benefits:

  1. Parishioners can recognize who these people are when they see them at church.
  2. Everyone gets to know a little bit more about the people who make church life happen.
  3. Your hard-working lay pastoral staff and volunteers get some well-deserved recognition.

Here are some ways you can profile your pastoral teams:

  • Create a profile for each pastoral team leader
    • Go to the pastoral service / sacrament the person leads and add a Lay Person Profile.
    • Enter in the person's name, photo and a short background profile.
    • Publish the page and create a link to the profile page from the main page of the workspace.
  • Add photos of the pastoral team to the main page of the workspace or add a photo album. You could have a group photo, and then individual photos of each person. Add in each person's name and their role. Be creative!
  • Write up a news article profiling someone. Inform people in your parish what it means to serve in the parish from a personal perspective.

Content idea: Profiles of people in need of prayer in your parish

In many parishes, there are people prayed for every week in the prayers of intention - people who need prayer due to illness or some other reason. Unfortunately, often in big parishes most parishion

Adding information about people in need of prayer has several benefits:

  1. Everyone gets to know a little bit more about some of their fellow parishioners, which helps build community.
  2. Parishioners can recognize who these people are when they see them at church (if a photo is provided).
  3. The person's situation can be updated on the web site, keeping those praying for them informed.
  4. Parishioners can share their prayers, support for the person through the site, which can be passed on to the person.

Here are some ways you can profile your pastoral teams:

  • Create a profile for each person. There are two ways to do this - create a lay person profile or put the profile in a prayer request (see below for setting up a prayer request). To create a lay person profile:
    • Click on 'manage content' and then go to the Parish section or an appropriate pastoral service and add a Lay Person Profile.
    • Enter in the person's name, photo (optional) and a short background profile.
    • Publish the page and create a link to the profile page from the main page of the web site or of the pastoral service.
  • Create prayer request topics. Each parish web site has a prayer request section. Add in a new prayer request for each person, which will in turn inform others and invite them to respond with their prayers and support.
  • Write up a news item profiling someone. Let parishioners know that there is information about the people prayed for during the prayers of intention.

    • Photos of fundraisers and other activities in one or more photo albums. add a news item to report on each event as it happens
    • Articles written by the youth about their thoughts, expectations going to WYD and invite people to comment / show their support
    • Links to the WYD site and diocesan WYD info
  • Promote fundraisers by adding news and event items and publishing them to the diocesan newspaper.
  • Add photos* of fundraisers and other activities in one or more photo albums. Add a news item to report on each event as they happen.
  • Publish articles written by the youth about their thoughts, expectations going to WYD and invite people to comment / show their support.
